Things to know before you attend

Before visiting a Commissioner for Oaths:

Affidavits or Declarations

• Ensure the document is properly completed, with all necessary information filled in. 

• Bring identification, such as a valid passport or driver's license, to verify your identity.

• Understand the document you are signing and its contents.

• A standard fee of €10 per document is charged for witnessing a signature on an affidavit or declaration. 

• There is an additional €2 charge for each exhibit attached to the document.

• A callout fee applies to any appointments requiring travel.

Certification of documents

• Bring original documents as well as coloured copies to be certified.

• A standard fee of €10 per document applies to all copies certified.
